About the Business

The nursery was established in 1987 by Hazel McAlenan and then taken over by her daughter, Sandra Heslip in 2006. Sandra has been the Manager of Hazeldene since 1997.

The nursery employs 10 members of staff, who are trained to our high standards. All the staff benefit from 'in house' training and courses updating and building on their existing skills and knowledge. Hazeldene is committed to the training and development of staff and this is recognised by the fact that we hold the prestigious Investors In People award.

Hazeldene offers high quality childcare tailored to meet the needs of each and every child as an individual. We hold Quality Counts, the accreditation scheme of the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA). In 2009 the nursery became one of the first in the area to achieve BEEL (Baby Early Effective Learning) accreditation. This is a reliable indicator of a high quality, value service.
