The name of our Nursery "The Owl and the Pussycat" was chosen from the traditional nursery rhyme by Edward Lear to compliment the large Victorian house in which the Nursery operates. Built in 1873 thehouse is set in secure, large, and mature gardens, and along with a soft surface play area, it allows children the chance to play safely outdoors. We are located at the corner of Claverhouse Drive and Gilmerton Road which offers free unrestricted parking.

The children meet in the morning on the main green in Dalkeith Country Park. Children come dressed in their kit with their bag. We start our journey by asking the children what they would like to dotoday and then we make our way to the nursery site. We know our site very well as do the children, when we get there the first thing we do is assess the site using our child friendly benefit risk sheets. Once we know all is good we start setting up the site with the children.
