About the Business
Alphabet Yard wishes to enable happy children to learn through play, in a high quality, safe, child-led environment. As well as children gaining independence, confidence we will ensure their transition from nursery to primary be as smooth as possible. The nursery proprietor, Elaine Buchanan is a qualified GTC registered teacher and has a BA in Marketing, who is in overall charge of the nursery. Nicola McMurdo has worked in the nursery since 2005, and is the nursery manager.
All children have full access to the national curriculum for pre birth to three and ante pre-school and pre-school years. Alphabet Yard works in partnership with South Ayrshire Council. The nursery can accommodate up to 59 children, with approximately 20 staff being involved each day, when the nursery is full. The staff ratios will be set in accordance with the National Care Standards.
