About the Business

My name is Barbora, originally from Slovakia I settled here having married a local. Following the arrival of my daughter I set up Elephant Childcare in 2008. I completed a training course in Home Based Childcare and attend a First Aid Training Course every two years to ensure my skills are up to date. We live in a quiet residential area at the northern edge of Ripon. I offer a warm and caring environment catering for no more than three children at any one time. We have lots of fun during the day whilst including learning targets as set out by the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Safety is paramount, I take a sensible and practical approach to looking after children in the home as a childminder, with periodic inspections by OFSTED to ensure we have considered all elements. I have a variety of toys and activities to suit children of all ages. I try to include as much diversity as possible into each day so that the children learn about a range of things absorbing knowledge without realising.
