About the Business
Bristol Childcare is a family run business. It started in 1971 when Bruce and Sue Farr opened Mornington House, one of the first day nurseries in Bristol. Forty-two years later Bruce and Sue are still involved in the nurseries along with their children and their husband and wives. This longevity means that we really understand children and their needs and the breadth of experience across the family means that we can run a sustainable business while keeping a homely, personal feel.
We believe Bristol Childcare is different from other nurseries because of what we believe in and how we operate. This is encapsulated in our Mission Statement and Ethos.
Small - our nurseries are in former homes so they are divided into rooms with attractive features such as bay windows. Where we have bigger groups, such as the pre-schools, we work in small groups so that we can nurture each child. Each room is set out to create welcoming spaces that encourage communication and language development.
