Highfield has been purposely designed to provide light, spacious play and activity areas, with subtle divisions throughout the Nursery to stimulate a homely atmosphere where children are placed ingroups, according to their age. A fully staffed kitchen and separate milk room allow us to cater for the full needs of the children in our care. A cooked meal is provided at lunchtime, snacks will be provided during the day. Fresh drinking water is available at all times.
The nursery has been established here for 17 years. Hayley & Alan Russell bought the nursery in May 2009 and have brought their finance & business backgrounds with them. Hayley is a local businesswoman with finance and child care experience. Karen has a foundation degree in Early Years Practice, an NVQ 4 in Management and is also specifically trained in behaviour management, paediatric first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding children.
Every child in our nursery is treated as an individual and the care we provide reflects this. Each child has a key worker who will liaise with you via daily reports and through speaking to you at thebeginning and the end of each day. Regular communication helps us to work together by providing continuity of care at home and in the nursery.
Our aim at The Old Vicarage Day Nursery is to provide a secure, happy, healthy and stimulating environment for your children to develop and grow. The Nursery is run from a lovely old Victorianvicarage with extensive gardens for the children to explore and enjoy. The building has lots of character and all the rooms are bright and homely. I run the Nursery with a carefully selected well motivated team of staff who are crucial to maintaining the high standards we work towards.
Children and all the wonders that come with being with them, teaching and nurturing them are a major focus of my life. I have attained qualifications in Introduction to Childminding Practice,Paediatric First Aid, Introduction to EYFS, Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene, Safeguarding Children, and I continue to attend training courses, both to continue my professional development and to enable me to provide the best quality childcare in my setting.
